Revolutionary Skin And Vaginal Care Technologies For Women

Extreme Makeover ‘Downstairs’ With Women’s Wellness & Intimacy Expert Lana Kerr

Welcome, everyone. It’s a joy to be back here with you. It’s very exciting. We are here with Lana Kerr. Lana, welcome to the show.

Thank you, it’s good to be here, Adiel.

You look like a glowing testament to what we’re going to talk about. That’s already a very good start. I like it when there is a coherence between what people do and say is good for you and is healthy for you and how they look. If you see an exercise guru who is all fat and out of shape, that’s not a good thing. You certainly are very much in line with what you do. We would like to get to know you better. Maybe you can tell us about your history, where you’re from, and your journey that brought you to this point with these beautiful products that we’re going to talk about. If you can take us through that, please.

Introduction To Carboxy Therapy

It’s good to be here. I am now living in South Florida, but I’m from the Island of Jamaica. My educational background is in accounting and finance, and then worked a few years in that industry, went back to school, studied nutrition, and then opened a few weight loss clinics. Once people started losing weight, we’ve helped over 30,000 people through our weight loss programs. Once people lost weight, they started paying attention to their skin more.

We decided to open a spa. In looking for something unique, as unique as our weight loss system, we came upon carboxytherapy. The form that we have is the first of its kind in the world. It’s a gel version of carboxytherapy, which originated in Japan, for which we have the exclusive license for that technology. That’s how I got into this business. We started in 2015, we launched it in 2016.

The Adiel Gorel Show | Lana Kerr | Vaginal Care

CO2 has become such a dirty word in this society, but we’ve had people talk about breathing and the importance of actually of CO2 and what it can do for us in a positive way. Talk about that because once again, you mentioned CO2 and people immediately see global warming, the earth is vanishing, and green aliens are taking over. Maybe you can tell us why.

The Science Of CO2Lift And Its Applications

Carbon dioxide is very important to so many areas of our lives, but carboxytherapy, which involves the therapeutic use of carbon dioxide. When you take in CO2 gas, it triggers a very natural response in our bodies, where our bodies are going to produce oxygen, it’s going to rush oxygen-rich blood to the area that is applied. It has a long history of applications. It dates back to the carbonic hot springs in Japan when the samurai warriors would, after battle, bathe in those hot springs and they would heal their wounds very quickly.

In France, they had hot springs there for carbon dioxide but then they also developed where with a needle, they would take the tank and they would use CO2 and infuse it into the tissue. Again, some of the results you’re getting are just better skin health and the regeneration of wounds. For wound therapy, it has an aesthetic component, it has a medical component. Now fast forward to 2015, when we launched the gel delivery system. When you mix these two gels, you create CO2 gas, but it ends a painless application that delivers very powerful results.

There is an analogy between CO2 and oxygen, even in breathing. We’ve had Patrick Mckeown here, we’ve had him twice. Learning to build up CO2 is actually quite important for breathing because according to Patrick as we hold our breath, let’s say, or we don’t breathe, you inhale. Now you’ve got oxygen, you can move around, but then you didn’t inhale for 10 seconds, maybe 20 seconds. I don’t know, maybe you hold your breath, or you build CO2.

That is the trigger for the next inhale. CO2 works hand in hand with oxygen. That’s what precipitates the inhalation, which we do without even thinking about it. Since we started this interview, you and I probably inhaled, I don’t know how many times, but quite a few. Every one of those was triggered by CO2. It’s the same thing. Let’s take it a little bit further. Clearly, you’re very passionate about what you call CO2Lift. How does it work? You said one word about it, maybe you can say a little more, and the science behind it.

CO2Lift is the first gel delivery system for carbon dioxide, and it can be used anywhere on the body. It’s two packets. When you mix it, it creates CO2 gas. The patented formula holds it into the skin for whichever area you apply it. What’s going to happen? It’s going to increase blood supply to the area. It’s going to increase oxygenation to the area. It’s going to increase neovascularization, neoangiogenesis, and the creation of new blood cells.

It’s a very natural way and the fastest way to have skin turnover. When we started, we started with just skin on the face the neck, and the hands. An aesthetic component. We have invested significantly in peer-reviewed clinical studies that have been published in peer-reviewed journals. We did studies on wound healing. We can actually close a diabetic ulcer, a non-healing diabetic ulcer in as little as eight days. We were directed from that point of view to plastic surgeons who they’re interested in wound healing.

Here again, another application. What made me aware, because we saw how quickly it brought oxygen to the area, blood flow to the area. It made me think of another use, which was for women for vulva vaginal rejuvenation. That got me in that area. More recently, a urologist just completed a study that we helped with erectile performance. It has so many different applications. Again, there’s no pain involved and it’s something that can be done in the privacy of your home.

CO2Lift For Wound Healing And Other Medical Uses

I was involved in a startup company that was closing pressure sources. It resonates with me when you talk about it, just on the mechanical level. When you talked about the two gels mixing and creating gas, obviously the first impression that our reader may have is that the gas will escape. You’re saying no, it’s trapped inside. When you apply the two gels, it not only creates a gas because of their interaction, it also traps the gas, does it?

In fact, in one of the earlier studies we did, we used something called a video capillaroscope machine, and we looked under the skin at what takes place once you apply the gel, and it increases microcirculation by 28%. That gas is going down to the muscular level and it’s affecting our microcirculation, which is very important. It’s not just surface, but it’s going deep into affecting that area of our skin.

Now another technical question, suppose you have a fairly large sore that refuses to close. We know that can happen a lot, especially with the lower extremities. With the poor blood flow very far from the heart. Let’s say the sore is of a certain size. When you apply the gels, you normally try to keep the source clean. Aren’t the gel dirtying up? How does that work?

No. We’re currently doing a larger venous ulcer study, which is large wounds. Of course, they have to clean the wound. They put this gel over it, which is very cooling. That gel, once you leave it on for 45 minutes, it peels off very easily. It’s not going to pull skin, it’s not like a peel, but it comes off very easy, almost like a jelly mask. That’s why some people call it a mask. I don’t like the use of the term mask because then people think of just the face, but it can be applied anywhere on the body. In the case that you just cited with a wound, when you put it on, it very easily comes off. You put back on the dressings and then they’re going to apply it again.

Now obviously as the baby boomers age and even Gen X is starting to feel it for sure. The topic of menopause is starting to become much more of a big topic than it used to be. Plus the media makes everything more available. It’s not only menopause. A lot of women have issues. There was even in the show, a curb your enthusiasm. There was an episode about vaginal rejuvenation. In that show, it was about surgery actually. That’s a topic that’s really out there. I can see how that would be effective for the same reasons, right?

CO2 Therapy For Vulva And Vaginal Health

Yeah. It started with my own personal experience. I am currently 53, but when I was in my late 40s, I started experiencing differences in sensation with sexual intercourse and just going to my GYN and understanding what takes place. It was new information for me because I didn’t realize that aging affects not only the skin on our face and our neck, it affects our vulva vaginal skin. The tissue for our vaginal tissue is as thin as the skin under our eyes, which usually shows age first. That gets thinner and it can get drier and so eventually can lead to painful sex.

I didn't realize that aging affects not only the skin on our face but also our vaginal skin. Share on X

Another area is that our blood flow, our clitoris, which is on our vulva, needs blood flow, just like a man’s penis needs blood flow to function optimally. That had started slowing down. In our twenties, it started slowing down. Once I understood those two areas, and recognized that CO2 is very effective at increasing blood flow and regenerating the skin, I went to one of our medical directors and asked him, what do you think about using this for that area?

We started, we did a pilot study, and it was a double-blind pilot study, which was replicated with a larger volume of women. The women who got the ultrasound gel or the fake gel showed no change in sexual function. The women that got the CO2Lift technology showed significant change in orgasm, lubrication, sensitivity, and desire, which was interesting to me because I’m like, “Desire.” You would think that even the ones with the fake gel, with the idea that they were getting something to help they would improve or increase in arousal and desire, but it just showed you that blood flow is necessary.

We are very happy that we are able to help women in that area. As you rightfully mentioned, Adiel, it’s not only just women in perimenopausal or menopausal, women in their 30s, or in their 20s can experience dryness or can experience any of those symptoms. Just like they use skincare on their face, they can start using things for their vulva or their vagina, both to be able to improve that very important area of our lives.

How long do you apply it for? The same length of time as when we talked about the wounds before?

It’s a minimum of 45 minutes, but the fortunate thing with the vagina, is the vaginal application, so it’s inserted similar to a tampon, but a woman can leave it on overnight. You put it inside and then on the outside to the perineum and you can put on a panty liner and then you just go to bed. You wake up in the morning, you sit on the toilet and it comes out like semen into the toilet and you’re good to go. There’s no downtime.

When we did our study, what we found was that a woman needs to do ten treatments within two weeks and then maintain the results with one treatment a month. You’re talking about returning to the days of when you’re in your twenties. I was explaining to your producer just before you got on there are three areas of sexual function for women. You have the tissue, you have the blood flow, those are two things that the CO2Lift is very effective at helping, but there’s also the muscle.

The reason why I was on your side of tone a couple of weeks ago is I recently had a vaginoplasty. That’s like a facelift for my vagina so because I’m talking about this, if the day that I need a facelift, I’m going to do it. I’m like, “Why wouldn’t I do something for my vagina, which is a very important part of my life.” I did that. The CO2LiftV has been effective because it helped to speed up the healing.

The healing. Now we can venture in, and you did mention plastic surgery, but now we can talk about many other injuries and surgeries, not just vaginal, but of any sort, right?

Yes. In fact, we just had a webinar last week with a very well-respected surgeon in Austin. Even when you do, people talk about high-def liposuction. One of the common things is bruising, a lot of bruising. Using the CO2Lift right after surgery. He puts it on right after surgery, puts a cellophane wrap, puts on the garment, and sends the patient home with others to do at home. You’re seeing the reduction of bruising from you’re talking about 2 to 3 weeks to 7 days because of the application of the CO2. That’s the pro which is a larger amount than in the CO2.

I do have to make a comment and I don’t mean to be trite, but I’m speaking for what is true. I was very surprised when you mentioned your age. Like I said at the very beginning, you are a living testament. I mean, you could be genetically blessed, of course, no one knows. As far as it stands, I was very surprised because I picked you. Again, any number I will say now will sound very stupid because you already said what your age is, but easily fifteen years less without. That’s a compliment, but I mean, it is something. A lot of people may be listening to this when they’re driving. I’m talking about what I see.

Clinical Studies And Evidence Supporting CO2Lift

Thank you so much. Do you know that it’s interesting that I’ve had dermatologists because we started more in the field with dermatologists? I’ve had dermatologists who’ve now opened their cones just based on their knowledge over me over the years. They’ll say, “Lana, your skin, you look much younger than when you started.”

I can tell you that I look better, I think, in my 50s than I did in my 30s because the CO2Lift really helps. One of the things I always like to say is, “You don’t get old, you dry up.” You think about a grape and a raisin and the difference and obviously, the grape is plump and juicy and the raisin is dried and shriveled up. After the age of 25, we start turning into that raisin. Fortunately, we have technology that slows that process donors can even reverse it. The difference between the two is water content.

You don't get old; you dry up. Share on X

One of the big things about the CO2Lift is that it increases hydration in the skin by over 117% after one application. Once someone puts it on, they can immediately see it’s almost like a cold, tall glass of water for your skin. You’re going to feel it. That’s one of the things it does. As well as improvement in elasticity, which is something there’s no other product that does it. Twenty-six percent after only six applications. I appreciate the compliment and thank you, but the CO2Lift has definitely been something that has helped me and I feel has helped my skin in a big way.

Easily half the population is male and the way you’re talking, you are a woman yourself and much of the applications we talked about so far are not the surgery or the wounds, but the other stuff, the skin. Let’s talk even about the skin of the face. Let’s just start there. Traditionally and notoriously, men, I don’t want to generalize, but still are much more reluctant to put on their faces. There’s a word that I want to use, but I’m not going to use it.

Use it, because I think it would describe my husband too. He does that, but go ahead.

I don’t know what your husband is like. Here is a smaller argument I had with my daughter. In the winter, it was very cold, it was heated in the home. My hands, which I washed quite a few times during the day, got very dry. My daughter said, “Dad, just put on moisturizer.” I don’t know why. Even that doesn’t feel like I want to do it. She bought me one. How can we get the men to put that word that I’m not using on their faces? What do you do? What do you do with your husband?

I agree with you. I think it’s changing because when you look at more and younger men, a lot of the millennials. The men are more into their skin. When you talk about GenX and older than that, I definitely agree with you. I forced my husband to, but it’s easy. He’ll do it. I do it for him once a month. I think women have to get involved in that if they want to see their men, their skin looking youthful. It’s such a simple thing.

It’s just can be done once a month. Putting on the face is very relaxing. You put it on, leave it on for 45 minutes and the peel off is very nice. My husband actually used it a lot because recently he had a hair transplant and we used it on the donor part to help heal that area of his head. That was important to him. We got him to use it then. It just continued on where it was easier for us to get him to use it on his face at least once a month.

Of course, being a male, he does have all those pesky little things growing out of his face. I mean, even if he’s shaven, does that stand in the way of anything or it doesn’t matter?

Right now, he has a beard on. No. You can put it on and put it in there and make that area, because remember, it’s still blood flow and still quality, especially if a man is grooming his beard, he wants that to look healthy. You put it on and it can come off and anything that’s left on water just takes it off. It’s an easy removal.

We talked about the vaginal rejuvenation. We talked about the clitoris. By the way, raisins are sweet. No, I mean, nobody buys it. You’d rather be.

Sorry, grapes.

Male Vs Female Sexual Rejuvenation Treatments

The grapes are sweet also. Let’s talk about the men. You did mention in passing that now you’re involved with doctors who are looking at the equivalent of vaginal and clitoral rejuvenation, restoration with the male stuff. Normally when you talk about men and the equivalent of menopause, which doesn’t really exist in the same way, you talk about ED, you talk about stuff like that. You mentioned before that when it was applied to women, even their libido, their desire was in hand. Can you transpose the conversation to the male side? Obviously, we have male readers as well.

It was so interesting how that happened. With women, it’s a very difficult conversation for many because they’re not used to talking about it. For men, I would compare it to maybe 25 years ago before there was a blue pill. You went to a man and said, “I have something that can improve your erections.” They’d be like, “I have a problem with it because there was no solution.” No men don’t have a problem talking about it. A man will take that recreationally in their 40s and 50s and in the 60s and 70s is something you’re going to definitely take. It was some of our male physicians who told me, “Lana, this has been very effective for erectile performance.”

When they applied it, and we just completed a larger study with a urologist in Spain, but there’s a doctor in Canada who did, I think it was fifteen men and it improved the SHIM score. There is a Sexual Health Index for Men. If a man was experiencing mild to moderate ED, after five applications, he would mix the same product that’s used on the face. They apply it to the erectile tissue and leave it on for 45 minutes and peel it off. Not only is he seeing his skin texture, of course, is going to be smoother as well as the testes nice and full, but he’s experiencing longer erection. It would improve the SHIM score by 5 to 12 points. That’s an interesting thing. He wouldn’t have to repeat it for another six months.

My level of ignorance is going to shine through here. When you were describing the application to the vagina, both internally and to the clitoris on the outside, the mental picture is very clear. You see where it’s applied but when you talk about the male equipment, or as it’s called in the very scientific lingo junk, where does it apply? Please paint me the picture. Where is it applied?

On the penis as well as on the testicles all the way to the right to the anus. That whole area is what is covered when. When it’s being applied and I have on our Lumisque website, we actually have I think there’s a webinar with a doctor applying it to the male. Obviously, sometimes when you’re applying it he may get erect or may not, but it’s going to apply to that. You just leave it on for 45 minutes and then you peel it off or just wash it off. For the men, if he wants help in that area, the protocol has been five nights in a row. He would apply it. It’s very cool. There’s no pain. I guess after, because of the coolness, it would probably shrink a little, but then you peel it off, do it again the next day. From the men, they’re seeing a big improvement in terms of their performance sexually.

Now you talked about the women maybe applying it at night and sleeping the whole night. Is that the same for men?

I don’t think so because if they toss and turn, it’s external. For the woman, it’s internal. Yes, she has on underwear. I think the man, I guess he could wrap it and put on underwear as well. I think it’s easier to just do it lying on the bed, watch a TV, or listen to your podcast as he has it on and then take it off.

Now we mentioned wounds, we mentioned facials, and I assume hands fall in the same category. We mentioned the genitals for both males and females. I assume there are resources for people to learn and you even said there’s a webinar demonstrating this or that, where can people access this?

Consumer Vs Pro Versions

Very good, thank you. We actually have two different versions, I mean of the CO2Lift face and body. We have a pro version that they can get from their skincare professional, they can ask them for that, or they can get the consumer version, which is a little less potent, but is to have been very effective. Directly at CO2Lift.com. That’s what website.

CO2Lift.com.

Correct. There they can see our whole lineup of products, which would include the CO2LiftV or the CO2Lift regular.

What’s the V as in Victor?

V as in vagina and vulva.

That’s a slightly different material?

Yes, because the pH of that is different, as well it has another slightly different formulation that’s going to help with any inflammation that is for that area of the body. That’s a different version from the CO2Lift for the face and body.

Will the man apply the same as being applied to the face or will they apply the V or what will they apply?

They will apply this one that’s applied to the face and body.

I see. Now you mentioned something that there is a consumer version and a pro version. Now you also mentioned that the consumer version is less potent. Now, if somebody is saying, “This sounds intriguing. I want to try it. Why would they go by default to the less potent version?” They say, “Wait a second. I want to buy the more potent version but now I need to go to some skincare person. I don’t know anyone.” That’s it. It’s a barrier, it’s a hurdle and it goes away. They never do it. I see.

I would tell you the one on the website if you look at it, tons of reviews. In other words, they’re still getting the benefit of carboxytherapy. There are some other ingredients in the pro that they’re not getting for lightening and brightening of the skin but in terms of the action, even with diabetic ulcers, people have found it very effective, the one on the CO2Lift.com. For ease of access, it’s easy to deliver it. We have an Amazon Prime account, you can get it easily. People still like that application of it. For women, for the vulva vagina, it’s the same one that the doctors have.

I mean, basically, what you’re saying is that the pro version, really, in terms of the CO2 action is similar to the consumer version, it just has some other things that make the skin shinier. Again, people sometimes don’t mind that as much. People can actually get it on the website, CO2Lift.com. Also maybe watch videos showing how to apply it.

Our Instagram has full of videos of the application, as well as on the website. YouTube has tons of videos of people applying the CO2Lift. For women who need a little bit more information, the CO2LiftV also you’ll see a lot of information from medical professionals on CO2LiftV because it helps with things like lichen sclerosus, which is something that is underdiagnosed here in the United States. It’s more people they even know they have it.

That’s like a condition. It looks like it presents itself in different ways, but it makes for sex to be very uncomfortable, even using the bathroom to be very uncomfortable. Many physicians use a CO2LiftV and women are getting relief in just ten applications. That’s a big. They’ll see information there and hear testimonials from other women. It’s hormone-free, which some women who, after breast cancer, may not want to take hormones. This is hormone-free. It’s something that’s safe, as well as effective.

I guess if men apply to their testicles, that would really be a testimony, but you know, that’s a good thing in general.

That is hilarious, yes.

Let’s say we have people and I’ve met people like that, who say, “I have two left feet, left hands.” I’m not good with that. Whatever I touch, I do wrong. I have some help, or maybe one-on-one attention, even by Zoom, when somebody guiding me at least that I learned, is there such a resource or is it not necessary?

It really isn’t, they’ll see, as a baboon could do it.

Baboon is very skilled. That’s not a good example.

If they felt necessary, our support team is very helpful. They will Zoom in or they’ll FaceTime and help someone to apply it. We haven’t had that request as of yet, but our support team is available for such things as well. Also on my Instagram, I’m very responsive to DMs when people ask me questions so I can help as well.

What is your Instagram?

It’s TheLanaKerr, that’s on Instagram.

What’s the first letter?

The Adiel Gorel Show | Lana Kerr | Vaginal Care

T is the first one. I get DMs all the time and I’m very good at responding to them. Also our main site, our CO2Lift, and our support team, they’re very helpful with DMing and answering any questions that people have as well.

When people say, “CO2 is what is ruining the world.” You can say, “Not quite. Let’s talk about that for a second.” Is there anything else in development or are you looking at more applications?

Innovations And Future Applications Of CO2 Therapy

There are so many different applications. We’re trying to keep up with some of the anecdotal benefits that we’re getting from doctors, for instance, with eczema or with psoriasis. We’re currently doing a clinical study with the Mayo Clinic and we’re looking at skin microbiome, we’re looking at telomeres to see how CO2Lift can impact in those ways. I think what our focus really has been, at least for me and a passion of mine, is on women’s health because I feel that we as women feel that they need permission to enjoy intimacy.

I’m a big advocate of women’s pleasure and intimacy because I think it’s very important in a relationship in terms of not only connecting with your partner but also connecting with yourself. We’re spending a lot of time and resources on educating women that this happens, but there is a solution. I think that’s our focus, but we’re also still very much into clinical studies on so many areas in which CO2 can be applicable and useful.

I come from an engineering background. Sometimes when you want to drive an idea or make a point, you take it to the extreme. I’m going to ask you a question in the same vein. Suppose you take a person, it doesn’t matter what the gender is, and you simply wrap them up head to toe in this and leave it for 45 minutes. What happens?

The Adiel Gorel Show | Lana Kerr | Vaginal Care

I’ve done that. Think of it. It’s like a hyperbaric in a box. If they’ve been in a hyperbaric chamber, it’s the same. You’re oxygenating every cell in your body. The difference with hyperbaric and CO2Lift is that hyperbaric increases the oxygenation of the tissue, but it doesn’t increase neovascularization. The CO2Lift is doing that. I’ve applied it to every part of my body before. First of all, it’s a nice feeling, but I know that I’ve done something good for every cell of my body.

Let’s talk about penetration and noting the sexual way. When you apply it to the skin, there’s a reaction between the two gels. CO2 will get released. It’s trapped. How deep does it penetrate?

It goes to the microcirculatory level. Right now we’re doing a perfusion study which would be very interesting because what we’re doing is measuring. It’s a piece of instrument that measures the level of CO2 in an area. We apply the CO2Lift and then see how much of it, and what is the increase in concentration. We’re going to wait, we waited three days and measuring it again and see how much of it remains. The results of that study will be very interesting. We’re doing a perfusion study right now, as well as a venous ulcer study. We know that once you apply the CO2Lift, it has an exponential benefit. Every time you apply it, the results improve.

The difference between hyperbaric oxygen therapy and a CO2lift is that hyperbaric therapy increases tissue oxygenation, while the CO2lift increases neovascularization. Share on X

Is this because you stimulate microvascularity, making more room or more flow for the next round?

That’s a hypothesis. We want to prove it. That’s what we’re doing right now.

To the simple mind like mine, when you say it penetrates down to the micro, how deep is that in millimeters?

I wouldn’t be able to answer that question. I think that’s one of the reasons why we’re doing this because of our work with plastic surgeons. They want to know that answer as well. What we do know is that when you put it on any tissue that’s damaged, it has that response. I mean, whatever depth is needed to start eliciting a healing response, that’s where it’s going because that’s what’s happening. We’re seeing it on bruising. It gets rid of it very quickly. It’s not something that stays on. You apply it every time you do it, it gets better and better. The next time I’m on your show, hopefully, I’ll be able to answer that question, because we just started that study, just actually, Monday.

The technology started out in Japan. Can you tell us a little bit about that?

When we were looking at carboxytherapy, the only thing that we were seeing was injectables because that’s what was common. We had some friends there and we found this group of scientists that actually patented this gel delivery system. We have the exclusive rights to that technology which I’m very excited about. Not for the world, it’s not only here in the United States, but we’re still just very young. It’s taking off in so many different countries. In Saudi Arabia, for instance, the V is really what has gotten their attention, the CO2LiftV. Dubai, in different parts of Europe. We’re getting registered in India. We’re at a point now that it’s almost like that time that by next year, things will grow so much faster.

Very interesting. Once again, even though it’s quite easy to remember, it’s CO2Lift.com. I know I’m going to go there and check it out. I’m very curious for many things, wounds, all the stuff we talked about, I think that it’s exciting. Again, as you said before, people can experiment with it, even on the genitals to see what happens. You could be a young person, a young woman who is quite moist in the right way and everything, but she can still see if she’s going to get better. Same for a man. All those things are intriguing. They talk about many things. It’s no longer a taboo to talk about them. Even as late as 20, or 30 years ago, those things were much more hush-hush. Now, It’s just part of life. It’s like you talk about food or water it’s the same.

I think back to just 2018, I remember being invited, I was in Texas, and it was in breast cancer awareness month, I was with a gynecologist who’s using this. The host said, “You cannot use the word vagina or vulva.” I was like, “What are we going to talk about this?” She said, “U use the word pelvic.” Fast forward just to last year, back on one of the shows and I was able to use it. Things are changing very quickly, which is very happy to see that we can have discussions like what we’re having right now with you.

It’s so absurd because why can you say finger or why can you say nose and you cannot say part of the body? You cannot name the part, it’s ridiculous.

Correct name as well, vulva or vagina or penis. If we didn’t use those, we wouldn’t be here today. It’s a very meaningful part of life.

I think it’s part of a strange morality that used to exist much stronger in the United States. I always remarked that you can see a movie with unbelievable violence. I’m talking about shocking gore and blood and guts in the body. No problem. You have teenagers watching it, no problem. If you have a movie where a nipple is showing, “That’s an X-rated movie right there.” I mean, so that’s a weird morality. In Europe, it’s not like that.

I think too, especially I think more so for the word vagina because I was speaking with a gynecologist and he was telling me, it was interesting, the medical term for the word vagina is pudendum. I don’t know if I’m calling it correctly, but it means shame. You can see where that whole thing comes from. Even if you think about it in Spanish, the word pregnant is embarazado, so embarrassing.

Embarrassed, yeah.

You can see then why there is this history particularly women feel this way, it’s almost like they need permission. I’m so glad that things are changing. I feel that sexual intercourse is a very sacred act. Your genitals are a very sacred part of your body, but we should be able to say the right term, use the right expressions where it’s concerned, and talk about how it ages and how it affects and impacts our lives.

Vaginal Care: Sexual intercourse is a sacred act, and your genitals are a sacred part of your body. We should be able to use the right terms when discussing our bodies and sexuality and talk about how it ages and how it affects and impacts our lives.

I think maybe this is only speculating. I don’t know if I’m right or wrong but we in general are visual and somewhat superficial creatures. When you talk about the male genitalia, it’s out there, and you can see it. It’s easy to relate to it and maybe talk about it. The female equivalent is hidden. It’s difficult to see. Some women need help to even see it. Not to mention the medical profession up until a few decades ago had a much larger male researchers, and doctors. I think this has really changed. This is one of the things that’s really changed.

Definitely, and I’m very glad that it has.

Lana, I want to thank you so much. We learned a lot. I’m very curious. I’m going to go and check it out. If we have any more questions, we are going to send them to you in an email. Thank you very much. I know you guys are very busy. You took the time to be here and I appreciate it.

Thank you very much for having me.
