We discussed the benefits of breathing through our nose. It is doubly important during COVID and the foul fire air in California, or pollution in general. Stress is also mounting in these times of COVID, for many understandable reasons. James Nestor reports in hs book that many cultures consider the ideal breathing TEMPO to be: between 5 and 6 seconds for the inhale, and 5 to 6 seconds on the exhale. Try it. When breathing at this pace, it has a profound beneficial effect on our level of stress, in addition to numerous other benefits.
